The Gate Code is a multimedia event with musical performances, visual art, and pop up shops during South by Southwest (SXSW) 2017 hosted in Austin, Texas. The event theme draws on the community planning template of suburban gated communities/neighborhoods across the southern United States. Each collaborator sponsors a “room” in the “house”, Javelina Bar. The activation spaces include: the Living Room (The concert/stage space), the Laundry Room (Clothing pop ups), the Den (Exhibition space & media interviews), and the Kitchen (Food/beverage sponsorships).
