However, as newsrooms face declining resources and staff cuts, the industry has been tasked with finding creative and inexpensive ways to provide news consumers with quality and impactful journalism. Partnerships between news orgs have proven to be a viable solution by fostering collaboration and resulting in ground-breaking, award-winning journalism. And, they’ve made an impact on social issues and policy, like driving local US governments to develop new policies on how sexual assault is defined when reported and spotlighting how the West Texas oil boom threatens efforts to fight climate change.
