Globalized food business destroyed local food cultures, economic independence, and people’s identity. We believe that extreme food localism is the key to get them back, and more. Food Hub Project was born to ensure the continuity of Kamiyama, a Japanese historic village facing significant population decline. We revisited Kamiyama's identity in food and evolved it to a new sustainable business platform. Our core is social agriculture, bonding people and discovering who they are. We spread it through a farm-to-table restaurant and grocery store for locals and food education programs. Kamiyama attracts top chefs from NY and SF, staying as Chef in Residence. We found a new way to interconnect people locally and globally. The world will be more colorful if each community embraces food identity.
