The lack of diversity and equity in ownership and all aspects of cannabis is well documented (by the NYTimes the Washington Post, etc.) and lamented among advocates, policymakers, and community alike. What isn’t as obvious is the “how to create an equitable and just industry that serves the communities most impacted by the war on drugs.” Panel members Christine De La Rosa, of the People’s Dispensary, Wanda James, of Simply Pure and Melek Dexter, of Re-Up, moderated by Kelly Perez, of kindColorado and Cannabis Doing Good, will focus on strategies and practical tactics to get us there. The right and just thing to do for racially equitable industry is also the profitable thing to do in business.
