This Spring, the City of Austin will host the first annual Smart Mobility Showcase! This free and family-friendly educational event will take place on Electric Drive and in Sand Beach Park from March 13-17 from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Each day the Showcase will feature a different theme and technologies: Friday, March 13: What the Future Could Bring - Virgin Hyperloop, a Ford and Argo AI autonomous vehicle, and Capital Metro’s Electric Bus Saturday, March 14: Discover Drones – The City of Austin’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (Drones), Choctaw Nation’s Drone Program and NXP HoverGames Sunday, March 15: Curb of the Future & Connected Vehicles - Scooters, bikes, mopeds, and emerging technologies related to our city’s infrastructureMonday, March 16: Accessible Technology - Ford City:One Challenge, University Transportation Center, and USDOTTuesday, March 17: The Evolution of Automated Vehicles - Autonomous Trucks, Cybersecurity, Automated Sensors, and more
Stop by the Showcase Mobility Hub at the 300 block of Caesar Chavez to pick up a scooter, a b-cycle, or to hop on the free electric shuttle that will take you to the mobility demonstrations off Electric Dr. This Mobility Hub offers a wide range of micro-mobility and mobility options to help you spend less time looking for parking and more time enjoying the Showcase! Choose from docked and dockless e-scooters and bikes and come check out a connected vehicle that will be on display!
Electric Cab of North America will offer free electric shuttles to carry passengers between Caesar Chavez and the mobility demonstrations on Electric Drive. While on the shuttle tour, riders can see and learn about Austin’s connected vehicle infrastructure.
